Blood - O Sangue - (1989)

Blood (a movie from Portugal) tells the story of seventeen-year-old Vincente and his ten-year-old brother, Nino, who must face the departure of their abusive father and its aftermath. With the aid of Vicente’s girlfriend, Clara, the trio attempts to pick up the pieces of their fractured family life while confronting an unwelcomed uncle and mobsters who try to collect debt that their father left behind.

Filmed in exquisite black and white, O Sangue marks a significant step in the career of Costa, who would eventually become one of Portugal’s most celebrated artists. While O Sangue is a first glimpse of his masterful use of chiaroscuro lighting, Costa has veered away from his debut’s formalist aesthetics in his subsequent films, which concentrate on his hypnotic portraits of real-life characters in the lower depths of Portuguese society.

The Fortress (Az eröd) - 1979

This Hungarian black comedy is set at a very special fantasy park that allows visitors to play organized war games. Sial IV - (1969) - French Mini series in 4 parts

Sial IV is a French TV miniseries by Greek filmmaker and writer Adonis Kyrou, adapted from the speculative fiction novel Deadly Image (AKA The Uncertain Midnight) by British author Edmund Cooper. It tells the story of Denis Lange, a fallout shelter engineer who is accidentally trapped in suspended animation as war breaks out in 1970, only to awaken in the early 2100s in Sial IV, an underground city in which humankind lives a life of leisure, having discharged all responsibility to androids. Assigned the android Diana as his personal assistant, Denis ventures through this unsettling idyll, eventually finding a small but tenacious group of resistors who seek to uncover the truth about the compound and its ruler, the mysterious Machiavelli.

My YouTube channels temporarily frozen

I have three YouTube channels:

• Revista Cine TV

• Revista Cine TV - Rosebud

• Revista Cine TV - Troy

The reason for three channels is that I am always trying to escape from getting my channels removed by YouTube. After three strikes, the channel is completed deleted by them. All the movies are gone with it.

The system used by YouTube to check copyright is very weak and unreliable to say the least.

Some movies that I publish are considered No Copyright Issues, but later, when the copyright owner watches his film on the platform, sends a message to YouTube to remove the film. A strike follows.

Sometimes the film published is copyrighted but the owner allows the movie to be on YouTube.  Later, the movie is removed by request of the holder of the rights.

This is not a fair play being practiced by YouTube. If you complain you get zero response.

Therefore, I have to live with this. It is like the Nazis with the French Resistance in Paris at the time of the French Occupation.

My channels are temporarily frozen because they are on ‘phase 2’, that is, with two strikes. They will be unfrozen by mid or end of July 2024 when the first or second strike expires. Be patient and follow this blog.

Marcos is a professional jai alai player undefeated on the court in 26 matches. When he’s not dominating his opponents, he’s trying to balance his relationships with several women, including recently widowed old flame Sara, nightclub thrush Lucrecia, and mother-to-be Rebeca. Marcos promises to wed Rebeca without telling her he’s about to leave Mexico permanently, setting in motion a plot by Rebeca’s brother Armando to blackmail the first class heel while also getting out of his debt to gambler Marcial.

One Way or Another - Todo modo - (Elio Petri, 1976)

A metaphysical mystery based on the novel by Leonardo Sciascia, Todo modo is the most curious and puzzling of Petri’s films and offers a not-so-veiled critique of Christian Democratic political power. Italy’s most successful politicians go on a monastic retreat at the convent of Don Gaetano to contemplate their notable careers and secretly devise a new power structure. Escalation (1968)

1968, London. Luca, the son of an Italian rich owner, is living his ‘swinging’ years away from duties and responsibilities while his father wants him to be introduced to the family business at any cost. Luca is first forced to return to Italy, then he is kidnapped by his father’s collaborators, jailed into a sanitarium, put through the electroshock and other torments. Then, when ‘normalized’ Luca marries a woman who in reality is a psychologist paid by his father to brainwash him and turn him into a perfect businessman.
